Academic Mini Performances
Academic Year Interactive Mini Performances (for K - 12 students)

Soweto Street Beat teaches the history and culture of South Africa through performing arts to students ages K - 12. We illustrate various rhythms, dance movements, art and other creative aspects of the eleven ethnic groups that make up South Africa. Our academic year programs are fluid, dynamic and energizing to students and teachers alike. Our interactive performances are 45 minutes in length.

We offer students/teachers exposure to exciting dance movements and then teach them some basic movements. They are brought up on stage and given an opportunity to dance with Soweto Street Beat. We encourage students to prepare questions prior to our performance using the study guide. During the performance, we have a question and answer period and we choose two students to come on the stage to play the drums.
